Unusual walks

Following on from the GR®2013, the “Sentier Provence, Mines d’Énergies” is the 2nd GR® de Pays to be created in the Bouches-du-Rhône département.

Crossing 14 communes between the Pays d’Aix and the Pays d’Aubagne et de l’Étoile, the trail is divided into 3 main sections (42km, 44km and 65km) plus 13 local loops.

These unique walks take in the whole of the Provence coalfield, with its industrial heritage and remarkable natural landscapes.

The hiker's charter

Getting to the site by public transport, bicycle or on foot

Stay on the marked paths

Respect the fauna and flora (do not pick flowers or plants…)

Respecting the peace and quiet of residents and neighbours

Keeping your dog on a lead

Do not smoke or light fires

Do not contaminate springs or wells

Do not throw stones

Don’t throw away paper and rubbish, but collect your rubbish carefully

Fire prevention

From 1 June to 30 September, access to forest areas is regulated by prefectoral decree and may also be regulated by municipal decree.
