The “Safran des Mellets” is grown in Aubagne, a farmland in Provence, famous for the quality of its crops over centuries.

The flower Crocus Sativa, the soil, and the climate make its specificity to the saffron of Provence. No mechanization is possible, harvesting the flowers, collecting the pistils, made of 3 stigmas, and pruning, can only be performed by hand.
