Every two years, on the first weekend in August, Argilla transforms Aubagne into the international capital of ceramics. For two exceptional days, more than 200 ceramists from all over France and the four corners of the world showcase their unique skills. This not-to-be-missed event attracts tens of thousands of visitors, passionate about the art of clay in all its forms. A wide variety of fascinating techniques will be on show: earthenware, glazed earthenware, raku, terracotta, stoneware, porcelain… Each stand is an invitation to discover the diversity and richness of this ancestral art.
This year: 9 and 10 August 2025
For the 2025 edition, Argilla celebrates its twinning with Deruta, an Italian town renowned for its majolica, and puts the spotlight on Italy, cradle of age-old ceramic traditions. This choice follows on from its recent inclusion in the European Route of Ceramics, a prestigious network of European ceramics centres.
As well as the exhibitions, there will be a host of festive events on offer, including demonstrations of techniques, workshops for young and old, lectures, artistic performances and much more. A total immersion in the fascinating world of ceramics! Join us at Argilla 2025 for a journey to the heart of Italian art and culture. It’s a not-to-be-missed opportunity to discover one of the biggest ceramics markets in Europe! For this occasion, the Aubagne little train will not be running from 8 to 12 August.
