World Music Day concerts and events

20 & 21 June 2026

Every year, the World Music Day transforms streets, squares and villages into veritable open-air stages. For the 2026 edition, the weekend of 20 and 21 June promises to be particularly festive in Aubagne and the surrounding towns.

Free concerts, open-air stages, rock, jazz, gospel, urban music, pop, DJ sets, shows and fun activities: residents and visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to celebrating the arrival of summer with music.

Aubagne celebrates the 44th edition of the 'Fête de la Musique'

A weekend of music starting on Saturday

The festivities will kick off on Saturday 20 June with two Celtic rock concerts by the band Barbar’O’Rhum, organised as part of the Le Tour du Monde des Pirates festival.

Two main stages in the heart of the city

On Sunday 21 June, enjoy an exceptional line-up featuring around thirty bands spread throughout the city centre.

Over 200 musicians, both amateur and professional, will bring the city’s streets and squares to life with a wide variety of styles: choirs, jazz, world music, pop, rock, urban culture, instrumental ensembles and contemporary music.

At Cours Foch, the stage dedicated to contemporary music will host, from 9 pm:

  • Timon Imbert’s jazz trio, in partnership with the Jazz des Cinq Continents Festival;
  • Louis LNR, the 2026 winner of the regional La Pépinière d’Artistes scheme, for a concert with folk and pop influences.

    Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle: the spotlight is on young people with a programme focused on urban and contemporary music: rap, electro, DJ sets…

    Concerts throughout the historic centre

    On Sunday 21 June, around fifteen venues across the city will also be hosting local artists and bands.

    Among the events not to be missed:

    • Place Grimaud, discover the band Les Casual Burgers with a sound blending rap, electro and techno;
    • Chapelle de l’Observance, an intimate atmosphere featuring female vocals and guitar, choirs and gospel;
    • Église Saint-Sauveur, a concert by the Conservatoire’s orchestras from 6pm;
    • Place de l’Huveaune: African opera from 4pm with the Intermezzo and Poulenc choirs, followed by contemporary music groups from 7pm to 8.30pm.

          Villages are also getting on board

          Saint-Savournin: concert and a festive atmosphere

          On Saturday 20 June, Saint-Savournin celebrates music in the car park at Montée de la Servie. From 7pm, enjoy a convivial evening with food trucks and a refreshment stand. From 9pm, the band Plan B will perform a medley of classic rock, pop and French and international hits. A free evening open to all.

          Auriol: a musical evening in the spirit of Starmania

          In Auriol, Fête de la Musique will take on the feel of a musical with an evening inspired by the famous rock opera Starmania. An event that will appeal to fans of French-language classics and musicals.

          Cuges-les-Pins: open-air concert and DJ set

          On Sunday 21 June from 8pm, the village square will be hosting:

          • the pop group XX Elle;
          • DJ Mistral Sound to keep the party going.

            The Festival Committee will also be providing food and drinks in the Léonard Blanc car park so you can make the most of this summer evening.

            La Bouilladisse: an eclectic programme all day long

            La Bouilladisse is set to offer one of the most comprehensive programmes in the region.

            Town Hall Square

            • 3.30pm to 6pm: open stage for amateur musicians;
            • 6.00 pm to 9.30 pm: concerts by Soane, Funt It Up and Funky Jazz.

              Saint-Laurent Church

              • 3.00 pm to 4.45 pm: female ensembles L’Oiseau-Luth and Aka Pella;
              • 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm: African-American gospel concert with The Good Bouill’ Gospelers.

                A refreshment stand and several food trucks will ensure you can enjoy the experience to the full.

                Saint-Zacharie: Rock Takes Centre Stage

                From 9pm, the Place de la Céramique will be rocking to the sounds of the band My Roots.

                Energetic rock, a passion for music and a warm atmosphere are guaranteed for this free evening open to all.

                La Destrousse: village festival and musical entertainment

                In La Destrousse, Fête de la Musique forms part of the village festivities, running from 19 to 22 June, with a range of activities for the whole family. Grand ball, dinner dance, fireworks: a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the friendly atmosphere that characterises Provençal festivals.

                La Penne-sur-Huveaune: an Unplugged Night

                On Sunday 21 June at 7.30 pm, the stadium in La Penne-sur-Huveaune will host the Unplugged Night concert.

                An evening dedicated to live music and getting up close with the artists in a relaxed, summery atmosphere.

                Cadolive: music and conviviality in the village

                On Saturday 20 June, Cadolive will be celebrating music all day long:

                • 11.00 am: concert by the music school in the town hall square;
                • 8pm: a grand sardine feast accompanied by festive musical entertainment.

                  A wonderful opportunity to enjoy a Provençal and local atmosphere.

                  A festive weekend to kick off the summer in the Pays d’Aubagne
