Impulsion, the must-see hip-hop festival in Aubagne

Since its inception, the Impulsion Festival has been a highlight of hip-hop culture in Aubagne and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

Much more than just an event, Impulsion is a year-round cultural project run by the company En Phase. Through its workshops, the company works with a wide range of audiences – children, adults, amateurs and experienced dancers – to encourage the transmission of knowledge, artistic expression and social cohesion.

Hip-hop culture, which emerged in the 80s in the wake of Afrika Bambaataa, is celebrated in all its richness. All too often reduced to certain clichés, it reveals its full artistic, educational and unifying dimension.

In this way, the festival becomes a showcase for local talent, highlighting local practices and the initiatives ofAubagne‘s cultural players.

Total immersion in hip-hop culture

During the festival, for half a day, an evening or even a whole week, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the whole world of hip-hop, through its many disciplines:

• hip-hop dance
• breaking (breakdance)
• rap
• DJing
• beatbox
• graffiti

All these practices intersect and interact to offer a global vision of this constantly evolving urban culture.

Impulsion also promotes amateur practice, highlighting the work done throughout the year in workshops. The event brings together different generations and encourages exchanges between artists, participants and spectators.

At the heart of the festival, a unifying philosophy guides every moment: “Peace, Love, Unity and having fun“. A motto that perfectly sums up the spirit of openness, respect and conviviality that drives Impulsion.
