Mellets saffron

Mellets saffron is grown in Aubagne, an agricultural region of Provence renowned for centuries for the quality of its crops.

Provence saffron is a flower, the crocus sativus, a soil and a climate that make it unique. The harvesting of the flowers, the collection of the pistils (made up of 3 stigmas) and the pruning can only be done by hand.

Cuges saffron

An organically-farmed saffron farm in Cuges-les-Pins (the historic cradle of saffron cultivation in Provence), producing saffron stigmas, crocus sativus bulbs (saffron), jams and saffron syrup.

Sold at the Aubagne market, Espace Producteur, on Saturday mornings every other week.
