Visit to the Falconry
Start of activities in the form of a Treasure Hunt: “Who is the mystery bird of prey?
At the end of each activity (lasting 20 minutes), the group receives a part of the raptor’s body to discover.
Activity 1: From dinosaur to bird
In the form of a two-sided jigsaw puzzle, the pupils first have to reconstruct the ancestor of our birds and then put together the figure of today’s bird.
Activity 2: Birds have feathers
Discover, by touching, the different feathers of each species present on the site.
Pupils have to match the feather to the corresponding bird.
Activity 3: The toolbox
Birds of prey have different ways of evolving in their environment (hiding, hunting).
In this box are various everyday objects… the aim is to find out which raptor each object refers to and why.
Activity 4: What does a bird of prey eat?
Introduce the concept of ” carnivore ” by looking at the different prey birds of prey.
The children will have to recognise the different prey (fish, hedgehog, grasshopper, etc.).

Resumption with a short active game: Owl/Mouse or quiet time
Educational demonstration in free flight
Continuation of the Treasure Hunt
Activity 5: Birds lay eggs
Presentation of various eggs from different animals.
The pupils will then have to put the different stages in the life of oviparous animals (frogs, hens, etc.) in the right order.
Activity 6: Create your own bird of prey
By colouring, the children can bring their own bird of prey to life.
Final reconstruction of the mystery bird of prey using the various elements collected during the activities.
