Marcel Pagnol's childhood memories walk

Follow in the footsteps of Marcel Pagnol on a 9km guided walk between Aubagne and La Treille, in the heart of the garrigue of Provence.
Accompanied by the Tourist Office, explore the landscapes and settings that inspired his stories and films.
From Bastide Neuve to Manon’s fountain, a lively tour combining nature, history and literature, ideal for school groups.

The bus will drop the group off at the Domaine de la Font de Mai car park and meet them again in the afternoon at the foot of the village of La Treille.

Programme

Morning

Walk past the museum at Marcel Pagnol’s birthplace, then set off in the direction of the hills.

As well as commenting on Marcel Pagnol, the guide will present the most typical plants of the Provençal garrigue along the way .
Arrive at the ruins of Angèle’s farm at the foot of the bars of Saint-Esprit
Picnic in the hills

Afternoon

Cross the Passe-Temps valley to reach Bastide Neuve
Take the Chemin des Bellons down to La Treille, passing the Pascaline, Lili’s birthplace, Manon’s fountain, the Cigalon restaurant and the cemetery where Marcel Pagnol is buried.
Back on the bus and a final stop in front of the Quatre-saisons bar at the Château de la Buzine (Le Château de ma Mère).
