A market steeped in Provençal tradition

For over a century, Aubagne has been renowned as the capital of santons and ceramics. Every year, the market brings together craftsmen and designers to share their passion for clay and painting, offering a wide variety of items: hand-painted santons, miniature nativity scenes and handmade ceramics.

The market officially opens on Saturday 15 November at 4pm, with folk groups providing the opening entertainment. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, locals and visitors alike will be able to discover local expertise and enjoy a stroll to the rhythm of the colours, smells and sounds of Christmas in Provence.

Argilla Gallery

a journey between art and craft

This year, the market includes the Galerie Argilla, a showcase for contemporary art and ceramics. The 44 exhibitors present will be offering a complete panorama of Provençal craftsmanship, from the traditional to the contemporary. Visitors will be able to admire and buy unique pieces, while learning about the history and meticulous work of each craftsman.

Santa’s House, set up at the heart of the market, will give families the chance to extend their visit in a magical setting, and offer the youngest visitors a memorable experience.
